Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)

IEMT is a brief therapy that utilises simple eye movements and questioning techniques to change a particular thought pattern that may be problematic for the recipient. The techniques help to create change by rapidly reducing unwanted feelings to help you to resolve emotional issues.

Moving our eyes in certain ways appears to connect to the part of the brain that stores our memories and emotions, thought to related to REM sleep.

IEMT asks the question, "how did this person learn to feel this way about this thing?" and resolves it.

IEMT can also show you why you may repeat unwanted behaviour and how to deal with this without the need for digging into the past with lengthy psychological analysis. Unlike many psychological therapeutic processes, IEMT does not require the client to disclose lots of details about their experience or give details about troublesome events. Disclosure is not required and the recipient’s issues do not require an “archaeological" dig into the past.

For example, how many of us when told by the boss that (s)he'd "like a word" in his/her office immediately feel like a school child about to be told off. This is an emotional imprint in action.

In some cases, the person can adopt aspects of identity that can be problematic. For example, an emotional imprint might be, "I feel unhappy" whilst an identity imprint might be, "I am an unhappy person" or even, "I am a depressive."

This is useful in all sorts of ways, eg. sleep issues, eating issues, smoking, anxiety, phobias, trauma etc. which can bring change, new freedom and allow opportunities to emerge.
